About Us

Alliance Counselling has a proven track record of successful outcomes in therapy for a diverse range of issues and with people of all ages.

Psychologists working at Alliance Counselling have a minimum of 5 years’ experience and are fully trained and skilled in an integrative, humanistic and evidence-based approach to counselling which tailors therapy to the specific needs of each individual client. To ensure continued provision of a high- quality service, our psychologists are committed to ongoing professional development and supervised practice.

Our therapists have all completed the post-graduate professional training programme in Counselling Psychology at Trinity College Dublin which includes training in person-centred, emotion-focused (EFT), psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural (CBT) therapies.

Psychologists working at the practice are required to be registered as Chartered Members of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).

Administration

Barbara CroweThe practice is managed by Barbara Crowe, B.Sc.(Hons) Psychology, M.Sc. Counselling Psychology, C.Psychol.Ps.S.I., MBPsS, Member of ISEFT

Barbara is a Chartered Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI), a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), and she is a full member of the PSI and BPS Divisions of Counselling Psychology and the PSI Division of Psychotherapy. She is also a member of the International Society for Emotion-Focused Therapy (ISEFT), having trained extensively in emotion-focused therapy (EFT) for individuals and couples.

Barbara has worked therapeutically on a wide range of issues with couples, groups and individuals across the lifespan in hospital, school and community settings. Areas of special interest include anxiety and depression, complex trauma and abuse, bereavement and loss (including pet loss), living with long-term medical conditions, and living with an acquired brain injury.
